Thai Ministry, U.S. Industries Agree To Compulsory License Compromise

Thai officials and U.S. industries have agreed in principle to make some drugs more accessible to Thais short of imposing compulsory licenses. Thailand's Commerce Ministry met with groups representing U.S. drug makers and biotech companies. The three parties agreed to cooperate on Thai research and development to give the nation the capability of producing its own less-expensive quality drugs.
