China’s Health Ministry Releases Highlights For Infectious Disease Prevention And Treatment

China's Ministry of Health recently issued 2009 highlights for infectious disease prevention and control. According to the main points, MOH will draft a white book for the prevention and treatment of major infectious diseases, including influenza, cholera, brucellosis and rabies; it will further improve planning and management of hand-foot-mouth disease. Capacity build-up of the national influenza center will be supported and assessment for the country's influenza monitoring quality carried out. In addition, MOH will conduct an in-depth probe into disease control institutions' development models and budget management to standardize their technical services.
