Hefei To Establish World’s Largest Hepatitis B Vaccine Production Base

Executive Summary
According to Hefei FDA, Anhui province, the world's largest hepatitis B vaccine base will be set up in the Hefei Life Science and Technology Park. To occupy 300 mu (20 hectares) of land and factory space, it will have an annual output of 11 million hepatitis B vaccine injections. Scheduled to commence operation in 2010, the base will bring in the most advanced production technology for hepatitis B vaccines from Israel. At present, the completed phase one basic facilities have started producing recombinant human insulin injection using processes including formulation, sub-packaging and packaging.
