India's Dr. Reddy's Laboratories and Sun Pharma are among corporations leading the country into global markets with foreign acquisitions. Together, they are causing major changes in the way Indian companies do business. Dr. Reddy's made the country's largest acquisition at the time when it bought Betapharm of Germany more than two years ago. Sun stepped on the stage by buying Caraco of the United States to give the Indian firm a presence in that market. Both companies now boast about 800 approved products each on the global market.
