Shizuoka-based Sunsho Pharmaceutical developed Tablart, a new method of using collagen membranes to coat tablets. Compared to current sugar coating method, the production cost stays the same; however, the new method reduces diluent usage. By reducing tablet diluent usage and making room for more active ingredients, the method also aims to reduce size of tablets.
