Japanese Government Establishes New Committee Promoting Drug And Medical Device Development

Executive Summary
The Japanese government announced July 12 plans to establish a new health research promotion committee to promote new drug and medical device development, effective July 18. Chaired by the Minister of Science and Technology, the five member committee consists of the Minister of Culture and Education, the Minster of Health, Labor and Welfare, the Minister of Economy and Industry, and a member of the Council for Science and Technology Policy.
