India Creates Government Drug R&D Promotion Board

India's Health and Welfare Ministry has established a new panel aimed at strengthening research and development in the nation's pharmaceutical industry. The panel is to be named the Drug Development Promotion Board, as recommended by an earlier special committee. The board is to be backed by a pharmaceutical research, development and support fund under the Department of Science and Technology for development of new drugs.
