An Asia-based trial of a GlaxoSmithKline vaccine suggests it may be effective against some of the strains of the H5N1 avian flu virus, according to the U.K. company. The trial of 1,206 adults showed they produced antibodies that neutralized the viral strain found in Vietnam and one detected in Indonesia, even though the vaccine was based on the Vietnam strain.
