Wyeth To Set Up Asia’s Largest Milk Formula Factory In Suzhou
Wyeth has announced plans to build Asia's largest milk formula factory in Suzhou, China. It has received the National Development and Reform Commission's approval for the new plant occupying 12 hectare of land, targeted for completion by the end of 2010. With an initial output of 90 million pounds (about 40,000 tons) of high-quality baby milk powder formula, the plant is expected to have a maximum production capacity of up to 80,000 tons. Wyeth officials decline to reveal the investment amount but analysts estimate the total capital injection to be more than $250 million.
