Japanese Drug Wholesaler Holding Company Ashinokai Consolidates Business

Tokyo-based Ashinokai (HERSON Inc. in English), a diversified holding company with a business focus as a wholesaler of pharmaceutical products and medical devices, has consolidated three group companies into one. Kita-Kyushu-based Reed Healthcare will merge with Sentai-based Vital Healthcare and Sapporo-based Hokuyaku Healthcare. With capital of ¥1.45 billion and sales of ¥60 billion (combined sales from the three companies in March 2008), the new Reed Healthcare will base its sales headquarters in Tokyo and management headquarters in Kita-Kyushu.
