Medical Equipment Rental Finds Big Market In China

Hospitals rent medical devices to acquire advanced equipment and facilities with little cash outlay. There is a big potential market for such demand; however, the business faces many challenges as the payback is long and financiers have to bear most of the risks. Currently, rental and financing agencies need to adhere to the Regulations for the Supervision and Administration of Medical Devices to operate. However, observers note that many do not comply with the requirements. The China Association for Medical Devices Industry is planning to host a session this April for relevant parties such as equipment manufacturers, supervisory bodies, distributors, hospitals and financing companies to have a broad-based discussion about the rental market.
