Nichi-iko Consolidates Three Subsidiaries

Executive Summary
Amid the rapidly changing generic drug market in Japan, Nichi-iko will merge three manufacturing subsidiaries, Aichi-based Maruko Pharmaceutical, Yamagata-based Oriental Pharmaceutical and Saitama-based Teikoku Medix by June 1, 2009. The new company Nichi-Iko Pharma will be established on the basis of Maruko, and the two other companies will be dissolved.
