India Foresees An Increase Of 20 More Biotech Parks

India's government has plans to create at least 20 additional biotech parks in the country to promote life sciences research. The country already has three biotech parks functioning, with another due under an agreement signed with the Wellcome Trust of Britain. But the Union minister of Science and Technology said a shortage of trained personnel could hamper the expansion effort. Minister Kapil Sibal said a regional UN center is to be one of the 20 parks and would help attract academia and others for conducting utility-based research. (Click here for more
