Purdue Pharma L.P. has appointed Alan W. Dunton senior vice president of research and development. Dunton joins Purdue from Danerius LLC, a biotechnology and pharmaceutical consulting business, which he founded in 2006. Previously, Dunton has been president and CEO of Panacos Pharmaceuticals and Metaphore Pharmaceuticals. He was also president and managing director of Johnson & Johnson's R&D arm, Janssen Research Foundation.
