The Irish CRO Icon has set up a cardiac scientific advisory board to advise its medical imaging division on issues such as the role of cardiac imaging in clinical trials, and adjudication of clinical events. The four-member board has expertise in a range of areas, including cardiac trial design, angiography and the development of imaging guidelines. Icon also recently opened a new operation in Edinburgh with funding of £100,000 from Scottish Enterprise and support from Scottish Development International. Lena Wilson, chief operating officer of Scottish Enterprise, said the move would "significantly boost Scotland's reputation as a location for contract research".
