An overhaul of the way patent offices work and greater collaboration between private and public sectors could transform the ailing intellectual property (IP) system, says a new study. It puts forward 17 recommendations aimed at ushering in a new IP system to stimulate greater innovation and bring more benefits to certain sectors, including the biotech industry.
