Augusto Silva Gonz�lez has been named director general of advanced therapies and transplants, a department of the Spanish health ministry. The department was created during the last ministerial re-shuffle to apply transplant policies and research into advanced therapies and regenerative medicines to the national health system. Mr Silva, nominated by the health minister Bernat Soria, was previously deputy director general of research into cell therapy and regenerative medicine at the Carlos III health institute.
