Executive Summary
The UK BioIndustry Association (BIA) has named Dr. Jane Osbourn – current vice-president of research and development at MedImmune LLC (an AstraZeneca plc company) – its new chair, effective January 2016. Osbourn has over 25 years of experience in the life science sector, initially as an academic before moving into biotech with Cambridge Antibody Technology in 1993. Osbourn received her Ph.D. from the John Innes Centre for Plant Science Research in Norwich. She succeeds Dr. Edward Hodgkin, CEO of Autolus, who is standing down as chair of the board but will remain a director.
