Executive Summary
EMD Millipore, the life sciences division of Merck KGaA, has named Dr Udit Batra president and chief executive officer – effective 15 May 2014. Dr Batra will lead EMD Millipore's strategic direction and operation from its US headquarters in greater Boston, Massachusetts, and will focus on the globalization and growth of the company. He joins EMD Millipore from Merck KGaA's consumer health division. Prior to his time at Merck KGaA, Dr Batra was head of global public health and market access at Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics.
