Emerging markets will be wind in Bayer's sales

Emerging markets are expected to have helped Bayer increase its 2013 healthcare revenues. These territories now account for around a third of the company's healthcare sales, and have in particular driven growth in the consumer care business. Eastern Europe, Russia and Latin America have been strong recently, whereas China – where Bayer has been one of many multinationals to attract the unwelcome attention of state investigators (scripintelligence.com, 13 September 2013) – has stagnated, after a concerted strategy of growth there helped drive sales up by 23% in 2012.
