Alliance for Biosecurity elects biotech CEOs co-chairs

Executive Summary
The Alliance for Biosecurity, a collaboration among pharmaceutical and biotech companies that are working in the public interest to improve prevention and treatment of severe infectious diseases, has appointed two co-chairs from the biotech sector. Anders Hedegaard, president and CEO of Bavarian Nordic, and Dr Elizabeth Posilico, president and CEO of Elusys Therapeutics, will represent the Alliance before the US government and other agencies to advance the development of new medical countermeasures to be used against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats. Each will serve a two year term which commenced on 1 June 2013.
