BG Medicine names chief executive officer

Diagnostic company BG Medicine, which develops cardiovascular tests, has appointed Dr Paul Sohmer president and chief executive officer. Prior to joining Waltham, Massachusetts-based BG, Dr Sohmer was president and CEO of diagnostic and research laboratory, Viracor-IBT Laboratories. He succeeds Eric Bouvier as CEO at BG and will also join the company's board of directors.
