ICON strengthens global scientific council

Executive Summary
CRO ICON has appointed Professor Brendan Buckley and Dr Nicholas Alp to the company's global scientific council. Professor Buckley has been appointed senior vice-president of medical affairs, having joined ICON in July 2011 through the company's acquisition of Firecrest Clinical. Dr Alp has been appointed vice-president and therapeutic area leader for cardiovascular. Prior to joining ICON, Dr Alp held senior appointments in cardiovascular medicine at Oxford University, and as a consultant interventional cardiologist at Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals NHS Trust.
