Inspire appoints new senior VP

Inspire Pharmaceuticals, a US-based biopharmaceutical company focused on the R&D of prescription medicines for ophthalmic and pulmonary diseases, has appointed Robert Savel as senior vice-president and chief technical officer. He previously served as president of Savel Enterprises and has held senior management posts at PDL Biopharma and Johnson & Johnson. In his new position at Inspire, Mr Savel will join efforts to prepare for the company's potential commercial launch of denufosol tetrasodium for cystic fibrosis. The position will be effective from 20 September.
