Executive Summary
Measured against the average "salaryman", the top executives of Japan's largest pharmaceutical firms did quite nicely for themselves last fiscal year. But a comparison with the industry's highest-paid executives around the globe shows that their pay was relatively modest, reflecting in part the smaller size of the companies they led.
