Executive Summary

The US Supreme Court has declined to hear an appeal by Pfizer for review of a 2009 federal appeals court ruling that reinstated claims in US lawsuits by Nigerian families, who claim that the company, working in concert with Nigerian government officials, tested Trovan (trovafloxacin mesylate) in children during a meningitis epidemic without obtaining informed consent, and failed to disclose the experimental nature of the study or the serious risks involved.
