Greece stands on the brink of an abyss. Whilst the nation seeks to haul itself away from this chasm of bankruptcy, by throwing itself on the mercy of the International Monetary Fund and Euro member states, its research-based pharmaceutical industry is simultaneously being sucked into the void. But the pharmaceutical arena rarely plays host to a one-sided show. As matters go from bad to worse for originators, other players could be set to benefit from upheaval.
