Ukraine's pharmacy sales grew by 16% in first quarter

In the first quarter of this year, combined sales of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics in Ukrainian pharmacies rose by 16% to Hr5.6 billion or by 11% to $701.6 million when calculated in US dollars, compared with the same period in 2009. The volume of medicines sold grew by 6% to 450 million packs, according to the Kiev-based periodical Apteka.
