2010 Scrip Awards open for entries

This article was originally published in Scrip

The pharmaceutical and biotech industries are responsible for some of the most important advances in the improvement of human health – come and celebrate the contribution you have made at the 2010 Scrip Awards, which is now open for entries.

Now in its sixth year, the Scrip Awards seeks to applaud industry's essential but often underappreciated role in healthcare. But this year, the Awards will be bigger and better than ever as we are incorporating three new trophies to recognise the increasing importance of outsourced research to the industry.

In celebration of the launch of Scrip's sister publication dedicated to the outsourced clinical research industry, Scrip Clinical Research, this year's awards will include the new categories: Outsourcing Deal of the Year; Clinical Research Team of the Year; and Best Technological Development in Clinical Trials. Together with the 12 traditional Scrip Awards categories, they mean that everyone involved in the complex task of bringing new drugs to market will get a chance to shine.

Around 500 people are expected this year at the industry's most prestigious and hotly contested awards ceremony, which will take place on 4 November at the Grosvenor House on London's Park Lane.

Since the Awards began in 2005, Scrip has been impressed with the quality and volume of the entries, and this year's competition looks set to be even tougher. With 15 different categories, there is an opportunity for everyone to get involved, whether you are a company operating in an emerging market, or a big pharma management team implementing a shared vision.

The industry-wide event spans the full range of corporate activities, and the winners are chosen by our panel of 19 expert judges, drawn from all areas of the industry.

The Scrip Awards provides an opportunity to showcase the very best in your business, honour the nominees and winners, and take pride in the valuable work you do. The ceremony also provides a unique opportunity to meet old colleagues and friends, and to make new business acquaintances.

Make sure to take your chance to shine. Click here to download an entry kit (www.scripawards.com) or use the printed version distributed with 9 April Scrip issue No 3491. For extra copies of the printed version, contact Natalia Kay on [email protected]. Entry deadline is 1 June.
