Sanitas acquires Polish manufacturer Homeofarm

Lithuania's largest pharmaceutical company Sanitashas bought all the shares of Homeofarm, a Polish ointment manufacturer, for PLN10.9 million ($3.7 million). Sanitas's other Polish subsidiary Jelfaexecuted the transaction with Hand-Prod, a local wholesaler of medical goods.

In the past two years, most multinational pharmaceutical companies announced plans to create production facilities in Russia. They had been ignoring such an opportunity for years, and there were reasons for that.
