ABPI announces new president

Executive Summary
Simon Jose, senior vice president and general manager of GlaxoSmithKline UK Pharmaceuticals, will take over as president of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry in April. He will replace Chris Brinsmead, chairman of AstraZeneca UK. Mr Jose will initially serve a term of one year but will be able to stand for re-election for a further 12 months. He said he was pleased represent the industry at an important time for the sector as it was undergoing "considerable and rapid change".
