UCB has appointed Dr Ismail Kola executive vice-president of UCB and president of UCB New Medicines, the company's discovery research through to 'proof of concept' organisation. He will also join UCB's executive committee on November 23rd. Since March 2007, Dr Kola served as senior vice-president of discovery research and early clinical research and experimental medicine and chief scientific officer at Schering-Plough. He has also worked at Merck & Co and Pharmacia.
