Assura, a UK healthcare company partnering with GPs to deliver high-quality patient care in the community, property solutions and consumer-responsive pharmacy services, has appointed Clare Hollingsworth to the board as a non-executive director. She will replace Fred Porter, who has announced his intention to stand down from the board with effect from the company’s 2008 annual general meeting on August 6th. Ms Hollingsworth is non-executive deputy chairman and former chief executive of Spire Healthcare, a company which was formed in 2007 from the sale of BUPA hospitals to the private equity company Cinven.
