Merck KGaA appoints François Naef general counsel

Executive Summary
Merck KGaA (Germany) has named François Naef group general counsel and head of corporate legal and compliance, effective July 22nd. He succeeds the late Dr Tilman Schmidt-Lorenz. Mr Naef joined the Swiss biopharmaceutical company Serono in 1988 and served in various positions, including general counsel and corporate secretary. After Merck's acquisition of Serono in 2007, he served as head of legal, human resources and communications for Merck Serono.
