Italy promises relief for women in pain

This article was originally published in Scrip

Francesca Martini, Italy's health undersecretary, plans to release €4 million for a project aimed at improving the management of women's pain. Ms Martini recently told a conference on women's health that pain therapies in Italy are far behind those elsewhere.

Italy's national government agreed with regional authorities in March on a budget of €100 million for the improvement of palliative care and pain management. Ms Martini has found an additional €4 million for a project devoted to the particular problem of women's pain.
