Synexus tries out a sales force for patient recruitment

The clinical trials patient recruitment firm Synexus is pioneering a new concept in the UK, a "GP sales force", which will visit doctors and encourage them to enter patients in clinical trials in partnership with it.
Synexus has its own clinical sites in the UK and elsewhere which are staffed with its own doctors, and the new initiative will enable doctors in the community to be involved in clinical trials, the company says. These doctors are often keen to get involved in clinical trials but lack the time and increasingly the specialised equipment now required in many trials.
If successful, Synexus will extend the idea to its research centres in other countries in Europe, Asia and Africa.
