CTFA updates GMP guidelines

Executive Summary
The Cosmetic, Toiletry & Fragrance Association is requesting comment by Feb. 2, 2007 on the new and revised CTFA Quality Assurance & Good Manufacturing Practices Guidelines. The guidelines consist of a core chapter on the general principles of cosmetic GMPs - based on international standard ISO 22716 - and 24 supporting annexes that "parallel and enhance" the core material, providing further "assistance to cosmetic manufacturers, suppliers and contractors in developing GMP programs," CTFA says. The annexes cover such topics as verifying finished products, documenting procedures to maintain quality control, and purchasing, identifying and storing raw materials. The project represents a "complete revision" of the association's 1992 guidelines...
