Utah Governor Mike Leavitt will head the Environmental Protection Agency, following Oct. 28 Senate confirmation, agency announces. Senate votes 88-8 in favor of confirming Leavitt as administrator. He is expected to assume his new position in early November, EPA says. During his tenure as governor, which began in 1992, Leavitt served as co-chair of the Western Regional Air Partnership.
