Executive Summary
Arcade v. 3M: Chattanooga, Tenn.-based scent sampling manufacturer and Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing settle patent suit, in which Arcade alleged certain resealable 3M samplers infringed Arcade's patent for its DiscCover scented samplers, the companies announced Nov. 12. While most terms of the settlement were not disclosed, Arcade granted 3M worldwide immunity from legal action on U.S. Patent #5,341,992 and #5,439,172 in exchange for royalties from 3M's Fragrance Burst Scent-A-Peel sampling technology.
