The Senate Committee on Small Business is sending letters to the Federal Trade Commission and General Accounting Office the week of Sept. 20 asking the organizations to take a close look at the practice of charging "slotting fees" for shelf space in retail outlets. The committee held a hearing on the subject Sept. 14.
