Revenues increased 32% to $90 mil. in the FY 2000 first quarter (ended Aug. 31), driven by international and domestic mass market growth, the firm reports Oct. 7. International sales were up 139% to $26.3 mil. from $11 mil. in the previous-year period, while mass market sales gained 40% to $45.8 mil. Health food/GNC revenues dropped 20% to $10.7 mil. Net income fell to $246,000 from $1.7 mil. last year; however, excluding $1.9 mil. in charges related to personnel changes and outside consulting services to upgrade management systems, net income would have been $1.4 mil. Weider anticipates a total of $6 mil. in charges in FY 2000 related to these activities
