EPHEDRA EXTRACTS ARE "CHEMICAL MIXTURES" UNDER DEA EPHEDRINE REGS and therefore are exempt from the regs, according to the final rule published by the Drug Enforcement Administration in the Federal Register June 22. Drugs containing ephedrine, its salts, optical isomers and salts of optical isomers alone or in combination with a therapeutically insignificant amount of another active ingredient are subject to the regs .
