Increased spending on UK hospitals and equipment:

This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

The UK government plans to spend £1 billion ($1.6 billion) on redeveloping 11 National Health Service hospitals. While the money will primarily be spent on new buildings, several of the hospitals will become specialist centres and will therefore need to upgrade their equipment. For example, a new 40-station haemodialysis unit is planned in Newcastle upon Tyne and the West Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust in London will become a £31 million purpose-built diagnostic and treatment centre.
