German industry relief at enteral feeding decision

This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

The German ministry of health's last-minute rejection a decision by the federal committee of doctors and hospitals to remove enteral feeding with fibre from the catalogue of reimbursable procedures has been welcomed by the industry association for medical devices (BVMed). The action is part of the ministry's refusal to accept certain amendments to the pharmaceutical guidelines, of which enteral feeding is a part. The decision must now referred back to the committee so that a compromise can be found.
