This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

Beckman Coulter has launched a high-sensitivity laboratory test for helping physicians determine a patient's risk of coronary artery disease. The test, called CRPH, measures levels of C-reactive protein (CRP), a marker that is produced in the liver and released into the blood as a result of infection or injury, such as tissue damage or inflammation caused by coronary artery disease. The test is available on the Fullerton, California company's IMMAGE immunochemistry system and SYNCHRON LX20 PRO chemistry analyser.
