The Organisation for Professionals in Regulatory Affairs, TOPRA, has jointly launched with the UK's Cranfield University Postgraduate Medical School the first post-graduate diploma or MSc in medical technology regulatory affairs. Maurice Wagner, director-general of the European medical device industry association, Eucomed, attended the formal launch on November 10. Mr Wagner stressed the importance of such a qualification, especially in the light of rising expectations of industry from competent authorities in the light of increasingly advanced products. There will be eight modules in the course, covering areas including management strategy and tissue engineering.
