Milestone Scientific (Livingston, New Jersey) and KaVo (Biberach, Germany) have signed a letter of intent jointly to develop an anaesthetic injection system for use in dentistry. The project, to be carried out at dental equipment maker KaVo's expense, will be based on Milestone's CompuDent computer-controlled local anaesthetic delivery technology and its CompuFlo pressure feedback technology, with a disposable handpiece. KaVo will have exclusive global distribution rights to the periodontal ligament injection device, designed to anaesthetise a single tooth without affecting the tongue, lip and cheek.
