Sectra North American president Goble killed in helicopter crash

Executive Summary

John Goble, the president of Sectra's North American division, has been killed in a helicopter accident in California. He was aged 58. Dr Goble has led the Swedish healthcare IT group's medical operations in the US since 1997, and was a recognised figure in the PACS industry. Dr Torbjörn Kronander, president of Sectra Medical Systems, described Dr Goble as "a great person to work with, a close friend, as well as a very competent colleague". Subsequent to Dr Goble's death, Tom Giordano, a board member and management consultant to Sectra North America, will act as president on an interim basis. Mr Giordano was most recently vice-president of marketing at Philips North America, and has held other executive positions in Philips Medical Systems since 1977.
