German local medtech on course for +8% in '08

German industry association Spectaris predicts domestic medical technology sales of €6.7bn ($10.4bn) in 2008, a rise of 8% on 2007. Foreign sales will rise by 6% to some €12bn, the Berlin-headquartered group said in a statement on June 16. Total predicted sales for the year, at just short of €19bn, will be some 6.5% above the 2007 figure of €17.3bn.
