AMO joins Abbott; changes name

Advanced Medical Optics, now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Abbott, has taken up the brand of its parent company by being renamed Abbott Medical Optics. The name change follows the completion of Abbott's $1.36bn acquisition of the eye care firm. Jim Mazzo will remain president of AMO.
